Description
Adidas’ Alphaedge 4D is a running shoe known for its distinctively thick sole. Uncommon in running shoes, the thick sole actually gives the runner more balance and the foot more support, keeping you going comfortably for much further distances. While it looks like it should make the shoe stiff and inflexible, the magic of this shoe is that the sole manages to be both supportive and flexible at the same time. The sole bends where you least expect it too, making it great for any kind of sport, and any kind of running. The outsole, made of Continental Rubber, also offers amazing traction on both wet and dry surfaces. As such, the Alphaedge 4D has become a favorite as a workout shoe, as the thick sole provides more grounding and stabilization than other athletic shoes. By the same token, the Primeknit upper is well ventilated, allowing heat and perspiration to pass through the shoe and leaving your feet feeling comfortable throughout your entire workout.
However, this distinctive silhouette is far from just an athletic shoe. The attractive combination of the thick sole and tapered toe has made this shoe a favorite as a fashion shoe as well. Just released in May of 2019, this silhouette has already been released in a number of different colorways, not the least of which is expected to be released November 21st as part of Adidas’ second Star Wars-themed merch drop. This shoe has become so popular so quickly that almost all of its colorways have been released in both men’s and women’s sizes. Perhaps the only common complaint about this shoe so far has been its price. Typically going on the Adidas store for between $195-$200, many feel that this is a bit pricey for what the shoe has to offer. As a running shoe, it seems to be incorporating some innovative technology, but it definitely seems to be more satisfying as a fashion purchase, especially with some of the more interesting colorways that have been released throughout the year.
