Originally, the New Balance 574 was meant to be a performance shoe. What sets the New Balance 574 apart from other shoes is its ENCAP midsole. ENCAP is basically a polyurethane shell that protects the EVA foam found in the heel of the shoe. This shell adds to the durability of the shoe and makes it last longer. It also provides you with better support.
As with all New Balance shoes, comfort takes center stage with this one too. They also feature a rubber outsole that provides a suitable amount of traction. Shoes having this type of outsole tend to leave marks on surfaces, but New Balance takes care of that problem. The rubber used in their outsoles is of high quality, so you don’t need to worry about leaving behind any marks.
The arch support is also pretty satisfactory in these shoes and they feature a mesh upper for breathability.
On the whole, the New Balance 574 makes for a great pair of running shoes that are suitable for everyday use. If you’re into classic sneaker designs, then you’ll love these. It’s extremely reasonably priced as well and combines performance with ageless style and comfort. Not a bad deal at all in our opinion.
