Description
Originally dropped in 1982, the Nike Air Force 1 Low’s claim to fame is that it’s the first Nike shoe to use Air technology in the sole. Since then, lines like the Nike Air Max have become much more popular as athletic shoes, but the Air Force 1 Low continues to be a sneaker nerd favorite as both a lifestyle and an athletic shoe.
The original inspiration behind the invention of air technology was the increasing popularity of outdoor basketball courts. While the same as indoor courts in terms of size and dimensions, outdoor courts are typically made of cement or concrete, while indoor courts, of course, are made of hardwood. Athletic shoes that served on the indoor courts didn’t provide nearly enough support for athletes who mostly played outside on the blacktop. The solution was the Nike Air Force 1, followed shortly by the Nike Air Force 1 Low.
Since 1982, the Air Force 1 Low has been released in a number of different colorways, including three new drops this month. Originally dropped as a men’s shoe, the Air Force 1 Low has since released models and colorways for women and children as well. Once of Nike’s most iconic silhouettes, this shoe continues to be popular both as a fashion sneaker and as a durable athletic shoe. Thought the Air Force 1 was actually a high top sneaker, the Air Force 1 Low has actually proved to be far more popular with athletes and laypeople alike because if its lighter and more comfortable fit. And, of course, the more drops it has the more popular it becomes. At this point, there is an Air Force 1 Low out there to fit any aesthetic, occasion, sport, or workout regimen you can think of. If you can’t find an Air Force 1 Low that’s right for you, then the perfect fit is probably being released sometime this year. Durable, versatile, and classic, this is definitely one of Nike’s most significant releases ever.
