Perfect for space lovers everywhere, Nike’s Paul George teamed up with NASA to quite literally use space technology to create an awesome looking sneaker. Nike designers teamed up with NASA technicians to improve the traction and foot support, as well as applying their knowledge of materials to make this shoe astonishingly lightweight. With multi-directional supports in the sole, this shoe doesn’t just look great – it provides next level support as a basketball and work out sneaker. Coupling the NASA additions with the standard Nike Zoom technology in the sole, this shoe has the durability and support to be an athletic shoe and the novelty look to be a casual sneaker. With a ½-bootie silhouette, the padded upper has a snug and comfortable fit that grips the foot without limiting agility or sacrificing comfort. The pattern on the outsole is designed to look like craters on the moon, and was patterned using an algorithm that analyzed the movement of the foot while wearing PG sneakers.

If this shoe’s tech isn’t enough to satisfy your inner geek, the NASA aesthetic certainly will. The mesh upper is styled in the blue and orange colors of official NASA jumpsuits, complete with a NASA flight patch on the heel. The tongue, collar, and sole are colored a metallic silver, with both the PG logo and an American flag detail on the tongue. A red “remove before flight” tag hangs from the orange laces, and the signature Nike swoosh is a tasteful black accent on the thick silver sole. As a nod to Paul George’s hometown of Palmdale, California, which also happens to have a NASA research center, Palmdale’s zip code is detailed around the toe. Wrapped around the heel reads the quote “Don’t tell me the sky’s the limit when there are footprints on the moon,” a quote to inspire anyone to pursue their dreams, whether those dreams are athletic or scientific. Priced at $120, these are undoubtedly a cool pair of shoes, bringing NASA tech to your basketball performance and a space-age look to your wardrobe.
